Jan Bats is a senior lecturer at The Hague University of Applied Sciences since 2006. He provides courses in sociology, the philosophy of technology and the methodology of social research. He studied sociology at Utrecht University and received his PhD at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Twente in 2019. In his work, he studies from a philosophical and social scientific view how people come to moral decisions in the online domain. In particular, he focusses on the question how an interactive online domain mediates how people relate to each other in that domain.
